Over 30 years ago, Kurt Geary began his building career while attending college in Chicago. Geary's inspiration for being a visionary and builder can be traced to his family background. His mother was a professional artist and his father a supervisor at a major motor company. The combined has helped to develop Kurt's creative awareness and strong sense of design and proportion which are features inherent in every K.W. Geary home.

He takes great pride in the fact that he has built up a solid team of the most talented, trustworthy, and professional specialty contractors in the Four Corners area. 'Building in Durango has been a real learning experience. There are specific building techniques for this area that you can only learn from experience. The snow loads of Durango can be twice that of most other Colorado towns, and the freeze-thaw cycle can generate a 50 degree differential in a day, which can tear up roofs and siding.
